Neuros MPEG-4 Recorder 2 Digital Video Recorder
What people say about Neuros MPEG-4 Recorder 2 Digital Video Recorder (by Neuros Technology):
Silent Movies Are Back. Gotta admit I was truly excited when the Neuros MPEG4 Video Recorder 2 finally arrived. Easy to use product....exactly what I was looking for!! If you are tired of downloading multiple shareware programs and other buggy software to make your PSP perform as God intended, this is the product for you. Flimsy connectors and grainy MPEG compression. I find this unit not very reliable for recording - the flimsy 1/8" connectors for A/V on the back cause video to come and go and I have to jiggle it to get a picture for recording - them sometime in the middle of recording it'll move just enough and leave me with a blank video screen with audio. Very Fun 5 Thumbs up! This is amazing! Smith3675. The product does everything it claims. The best way to transfer video to your Ipod and PSP. The Neuros Recorder will record video from any video source in MPEG4 and 3GP format. Great for YouTube, So-So Otherwise. I bought this product intending to use it to capture video from various sources that I could then edit and put on youtube and other video sharing sites. Great mini dvr. has all the strength of a large unit, but u can hide this one anywhere. Neuros is so customer support friendly!! I just want to say that I bought this for my son for x mas. Awesome Device. I had bought this blindly on a impulse buy at Comp USA's closing.
Outstanding device.....once you figure it out. I love this recorder. Great unit. I plugged it in and it worked. Good user interface. Purchased this item because we wanted a solid State (flash memory based) video recorder. If it worked, it would be a good idea. After spending about 2 hours trying every possible combination of cords and TV's to get the Neuros to work. Not for recording from your TV. Even though this item claims to record from your TV, it does not, however, the Vendor I bought it from was one of the best I've ever dealt with! How cool is Star Wars on your iPod? Works as advertised. Nice device for both younger and older users. very user friendly and easy to use. It does what it says it does, and it does it well. The Recorder 2 makes it trivially easy to get movies and TV shows onto my PSP. Hands down the best memory card recorder to date. I tested this along side the SanDisk V-Mate, and there is no comparison. Neuros 2 Recorder. This product is Great.
Works well, picture not that great. This recorder is great. Works as a VCR Replacement. The old VCR finally gave out, and besides that, we have no space near the new Sharp Aquos LCD flatscreen. WOW! I've been converting videos for my ipod since November, and just started converting for my PSP a month ago. A unique solution. I work in a college setting, and there are many times when professors want to record student presentations for immediate review. Bit of a headache. Unfortunately, this item only has input/output to RCA so I had to do a lot of rewiring just to get it up and running. Does not work well. I have tried this product on different TVs. Headache Free!! Finally a product that works as expected!

Sony DHG-HDD500 60-Hour High-Definition Digital Video Recorder (500 GB)
What people say about Sony DHG-HDD500 60-Hour High-Definition Digital Video Recorder (500 GB) (by Sony):
SONY HD DVR vs. TIVO HD series 3 Well I had the SONY DVR but the software was pure junk. Does what it's supposed to do, but with room for improvement. [This review is based on experiences with the DHG-HDD250; the DHG-HDD500 is identical, except that it is $150-$200 more expensive and has two 250GB hard disks instead of just one. High sensitivity over-the-air receiver, but user interface and functionality a far cry from Tivo. The hardware platform is very capable with a better (more sensitive) over-the-air HD tuner than found in the HD Tivo units currently offered in combination with satellite TV. Outstanding image quality and control, minor drawbacks. After reviewing people's comments, it seems that those who read the manual (so they know how to set it up and use all its features) get a lot out of the unit. Sony DVR. I had the DVR and it broke in less that one year. Do your research before you buy.... I made the mistake of buying this unit to soon without doing my home work. Sony 60 Hour HD DVR. I was already an owner of a Sony DHG-HDD250 (30 hour HD capacity recording). Impressive technology and simple to use. I am very happy with this Sony DVR. Unreliable. If you have OTA HD and need a way to record programs without putting money in Rupert Murdoch's pocket, this is the only game in town. Pleased with the DVR. Everything works as advertised.
Sony DHG-HDD500 HD DVR. Is there any way we can get our Sony DHG-HDD500 HD DVR Recorder to work with our Dish Network Satellite System? Great Unit if you do your homework. I have used the Sony DHG-HDD500 for over a year now. Good when it works. I use this unit in a Comcast Cablecard setup. Nice start, but... While this is just what I was hoping to see when CableCard availability was announced, it has it's limitations. Can't Recommend. I wanted to really like this DVR. Long-term Experience. Writing this mainly because of the complaints I have seen. You gotta get one of these! I live in a large metropolitan city and every network broadcasts over-the-air FREE digital and HD 24 hours a day. This is the best OTA HD DVR so far. This product delivered more than I expected. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. I have been waiting for a Hi-Def DVR ever since I bought a Sony 70 inch Hi-Def TV two years ago. Great HD recorder. I have had this recorder for about 2 months now without the issues some speak of here.
Love this machine! I have mine for 3 weeks now. Good product. Lousy remote. I really like this unit especially HD picture. Video section good - EPG not so good. I wrote a review about a month after I got this HDD500 but amazon didn't post it - right now it is being shipped back to the sony repair fac. SONY DHG-HDD500 HIGH DIFF - HARD DRIVE - TV RECORDER. 5/11/09 MY NEW/USED Sony DHG-HDD250 WORKS GREAT. Works well for me, but "your mileage may vary" (a lot!) It's somewhat amazing that this DVR and its little brother the DHG-HDD5250 are still listed on Amazon (via third-party sellers), and they're selling for good prices on eBay, even though Sony discontinued them in November 2005.

Panasonic PV-HS2000 ReplayTV ShowStopper 30-Hour Digital Video Recorder
What people say about Panasonic PV-HS2000 ReplayTV ShowStopper 30-Hour Digital Video Recorder (by Panasonic):
The Jury Is Still Out... DirecTV box. No service. The Showstopper (Panasonic's version of the ReplayTV) is the best device I have bought in a very long time. Good - but not great. This product is an excellent example of a product that was made 90% of the way, and the remainder of the details were ignored. Unreliable. Mine has failed for the second time in two years. Best invention since the flush toilet. When I first opened the box and read that I HAD to hood this thing up to the phone line I almost returned it. Very good for parents. I have a 2 year old daughter and this product has been a real great investment for a few reasons. The Best way to watch TV Ever! I went and bought this looking for the option to record shows that I always miss when I am at work (I really like Anime, for example) and I can give the box certian settings, be that Cartoons, or a specific Show and It can find every time the show is on and record it for me and I can watch it ANYTIME I want to, not having to worry about remembering to watch the show and set the VCR to record the next time I want to see a show (which I had missed just because I forgot to push a button). What a VCR should have been! After hearing mixed reviews of Tivo and Replay TV, I took the plunge and purchased a Panasonic Showstopper PVHS-2000. Great Thing. Buy this thing as soon as you have enough money. Take back your life . . . watch TV on your terms! Panasonic's ReplayTV is absolutely awesome!
Long-term Reliability Poor? Replay TV is really the coolest thing to hit the TV market in quite a while but the reliability of both unit & remote is not great. A good product with some very minor issues. The Panasonic PV-HS2000 unit works very well and lives up to the hype. A revolutionary product! Ok, I'm going to just lay this out on the table immediately. Great Machine. I could sell a million of these baby's! The most useful electronic device in our home! This toy was well worth the money spent - we take advantage of its features every single day. No local access number available. I was given this item for X-Mas but I did not get around to setting it up until mid-February. Still Waiting for the International version. A really great idea, unfortunately taken only part way. One bad word - Macrovision! Unlike 'current' Tivo systems on the market such as the ones from Sony and Philips, this sytem (from replay networks) has Macrovision which means that in the future certain networks will send out a signal preventing a digital recording of their programs using this sytem. What tv should be like for everyone. We've had our unit well over a year. It's great when it works... I love what this machine can theoretically do.
Fantastic. This gizmo will change your life! Hot Machine.... This is machine is a winner. This is how TV should be! This is the best gizmo I've ever bought in my life. Great Features - Poor Video Quality. I bought this unit a little more than a week ago. Its Great! Without a lot of typing. Perfect for anyone!!! I wanted a Tivo cause of the features it had, but I settled for a Replay when I got it for my birthday and I have never been happier! Good but not perfect. I read A LOT of reviews before purchasing this product and knew most of it's shortcomings before I opened the box. Great product, but very unreliable. This is one of the best products to ever hit the market functionality wise. Your comparison of TiVo and RePlayTv misses important points. Your comparison of TiVo and RePlayTv misses important points:1) With TiVo you have to pay for the program guide service, with RePlayTv you do not. Best Gadget Ever! It is so great to not have to tied to the schedule set by the networks.
A nice device. The PV-HS 3000 is a nice device but it is not perfect. Poor customer service -unknown costs. The basic concept of the unit is not bad BUT; they don't tell you that the daily dial-in service costs can be very expensive if they don't provide you a local phone number. TV time machine. I bought the Panasonic PV-HS1000 about 2 weeks ago and I love it. Fantastic product -- with a few very small caveats. I have been a huge fan of ReplayTV since I bought my 20-hour unit acouple of years ago. Replay redefines TV (and it's better than TiVo). The Showstopper is not JUST a digital VCR. It's still just TV people. i'd just like to say i'm not one of the people whose life has been changed by this product. Best thing since microwave! Truly will change the way you watch TV. A stinker! I bought this thing a couple of weeks ago and found out to my dismay that it has the worst discription of how to hook it up that I've ever had the misfortune to read. Wow! When I first bought this product, I felt a little silly spending so much money. The only way to watch TV. I love this machine!
Great product but has serious limitations. I am very happy with the Panasonic PVHS2000 but wished I had bought the Replay unit instead. You and your kids will love it! Buy one. This product is fantastic. Excellent Product, Easy to Use. Wow! Big Girl! This thing weighs a ton! This is a very good product, though... ReplayTV or Tivo. You will use more often than vhs, and dvd combined! The product is great!
Features:
- ShowStopper pauses live TV and resumes play at your convenience
- 30-hour hard drive digitally stores programming, eliminates need for videotapes
- QuickSkip feature jumps ahead 30 seconds
- Instant replay allows you to rewind in 7-second increments

ReplayTV RTV5516 160-Hour Digital Video Recorder
What people say about ReplayTV RTV5516 160-Hour Digital Video Recorder (by ReplayTV):
Poor Customer Service, Does NOT work with HDTV Tuner. I really wanted the ReplayTV to work and set out to make all the connections one night. Best DVR out there! Well I usually don't write reviews. Not worth the effort. ReplayTV and TIVO seem to be two sides of the same coin. ReplayTV RTV5516 It's ok but could be better. This is my 1st DVR. Deceptive Advertising - 3 yr service not included. The sale price in the add is 299. I'll never go back to VHS! It took a little getting used to but after using my Replay TV for about 6 months now, I'll never go back to my VHS recorder. Pure crap. My Replay TV 5504 died after 4 months. Bait-and-switch! DNNA changed the rules after the sale! Well, I'm sure I am not the only one in this situation. Great product, better than Tivo. I disagree with all the recent 1 star reviews. Slight step down from the 5040, but still great. I received my second ReplayTV unit yesterday (I've owned the 5040 for about 1.
Buyer Beware! What a plie of junk!! Recieved it, Unpacked it, Spent 8 days fighting with their tech support trying to convince them it was defective. Perfect unit for recording your favorite shows. I recently purchased a ReplayTV unit due to the awesome price drop and connected it to my bedroom TV. The best ever (slightly better than TiVo) I own I original ReplayTV, 2 RTV5504 and 1 TiVo. ReplayTV RTV5504 I purchased two Replay TV RTV5504 recorders because they were LAN ready and I have regretted it since. Replay..better than Tivo! By far this is such a great unit! Minus 5 stars! As the title suggests, I am less than thrilled with my ReplayTV 5504. An Excellent, Versatile Digital Video Recorder. I have had a ReplayTV 5080 for almost two years. Never watch commercials again. I've had my ReplayTV for over a year so I think I can give you a good review of it. Get the better version. This replay is good but you can still get the better (previous) version RTV5040 at www. I love my ReplayTV! I love my almost 1 year old Replay TV 5040.
Who's to blame? i recently purchased a replaytv from circuit city nashua nh and to my excitement the box stated "3years replaytv service included with this unit" this is not what i received though. Will not work at all without subscription. This e-mail that I sent will sum it up for those that do not want to pay a subscription:I just want to make sure before I open the box. Is Paid Service Required? Dear ReplayTV users. Dreadful Product . . .TIVO rules folks!!!! I wrote a review about this product about 3 weeks ago, but for some reason it never showed up so I'm writing it again. After several months of use. My comments are the negative ones, because those are the ones I pay attention to when looking at the reviews here for help on a purchase. If you are thinking of buying a ReplayTV....DON'T!!! I was really happy with my ReplayTV for the first six months. Tivo is better. This product is over-priced and overly complicated. Good activation experience. I bought a 5508 via Amazon on 4-Dec-2003 as a Xmas gift for my wife. Bad, Bad, Bad, Buyer Beware!!!! Do NOT buy these products! Buyer's Remorse with ReplayTV I first was exposed to DVR technology through my former roommate.
Piece of Junk! This product worked ok when it worked. SIMPLY AWESOME!!! Great service, support, ease of use. I picked up a ReplayTV for $150 in a major big-box retailer. I LOVE MY REPLAY-TV. I have had my first ReplayTV for about 3 years now, and I have loved it. OK product ruined by horrible tech support. I echo the other reviewers' complaints regarding poor tech support from Replay TV. Agree with below, Great Product. There is no automatic commerical skip, but all you have to do now is press one button before each break and they are all skipped. Not sure of 5504 but 5040 rules. I just ordered my 3rd ReplayTV. Long Time ReplayTV owner. I see alot of bad mouthing of ReplayTV. Great Machine....Life Changing Exp. I purchased thi sunit on December 17th, 2003. Worth the money very similar to tivo and can skip commercial. Ive bought 5 of these so far, two as gifts, and am content. I think it is cheating. When I bought the ReplayTV RTV5508 unit, it clearly said that it came with three years service, also it also indicated in the box of that unit.
God Forbid You Should Need Support. I have never encountered a company with poorer support. Don't be fooled by Tivo marketing. I have both units and I want everyone to know what I have discovered: Replay is far better then a Tivo in every respect. Can I give it less than one star? ReplayTV is an awful, awful company! I had a Panasonic ShowStopper 2000 (made by ReplayTV). Quit working within first week! I was very excited to get this unit. Good on paper, junk in the box. I originally chose ReplayTV over Tivo because of the indefinite pause, and the fact that it can display pictures without additional charges, but now I'm returning the ReplayTV and buying a Tivo instead for the following reasons:I paid $519 for a 5508 that was supposed to include 3 years of service. My experience with ReplayTV. I first bought my ReplayTV around Christmas of 2002 and right off the bat the unit was broken. Replay spanks TIVO, this machine rocks!!! I have had a TIVO in the past and now I own a Replay. 29 Days. 29 Days. Terrible Service Ruins Everything. When my ReplayTV worked, it was great. DON'T REPLAY IT AGAIN, SAM. What is nicer than paying full price for a unit with a three year service subscription as part of the $500.
I feel this is the DVR to have, you can easily download file. I bought my dad this DVR, almost a year ago. NO SERVICE INCLUDED. What is are these bozos thinking. The best DVR by far! To start out I will admit that ReplayTV has gone through some quality issues since it was taken over by Denon & Marantz earlier this year. Better than Tivo, but not as good as previous ReplayTVs. ReplayTV is great and has features that Tivo does not. Hands down (was) the best out there. I've owned a Replay 5040 for over a year and just picked up a 5504 from Amazon. A Faint Shadow of TiVo. The ReplayTV unit promises a lot but fails to deliver. Easy and versatile. I just ordered my third Replay unit. BETTER THAN TIVO! I OWN BOTH TIVO AND REPLAYTV, AND THE REPLAY TV IS BUY FAR THE BEST. DNNA Shows Its True Colors: Do not buy or support ReplayTV. I own both the ReplayTV 5040 and 2000 models. My one Problem. I purchased the Replay TV 40 hour DVR almost a year ago and the only problem I've had with it is that it doesn't update every night.
Item is wonderful if you pay each and every month... I like this item because of its wonderful functionality but the company's greed forces me to give it very poor marks. Life changing concept, not ready for prime time. I've had my ReplayTV for two months. Terrible product and customer service.Won't honor free offer. I bought a ReplayTV unit about 10 days ago and have had nothing but trouble. Great unit; Mixed blessing at first. Cons:Hassle to setupMy unit only sees the IR remote from right in front. Love this product, no more regular TV!! I love my ReplayTV so much so that I have 3 of them. Both units working great for over 2 years. Believe what you want. Nice but BUGGY! I got this unit about a year ago and love the features and the graphical user interface. Great Product. This does everything you could ask for and more. Don't know about Tivo but Replay TV is not worth the $$$ Bought Replay TV from Amazon. Better than tivo. I've owned both and ReplayTV is much better.
Now I control my TV ! The product arrived amost 10 days after I ordered. Unpublished Policy Change puts the screws to consumers. I just ordered two Replay TV 5532 units for $2,100, with what was supposed to be 3 years of service, with an additional 3 years for $1 a month. Very Dissapointed. Never worked from the begining. ReplayTV stepped up to the plate!! I got one of those units with the activation included, and yes, I only paid $300 for the 80 hour unit. I went with Tivo after owning ReplayTV. I bought a ReplayTV and for the first two days it worked great. So Far.... It's Awesome! Ok here is a review from a guy that has had both Tivo and ReplayTV units. NOT lifetime service. This would have gotten a 4, but it does not state that this model does *not* include lifetime service. Replay Vs. Tivo- Which do I get? You know what. Great Product! There is no doubt that ReplayTV changes the way you watch TV. Wow, WoW, WOW!!! I have had this device in my possession for less than 24 hours.
ReplayTV - King of the DVR's I work in television as the cheif engineer for a local network. Try TIVO instead. I now have a TIVO unit (and it works) since I could not get the ReplayTV unit to work and had to return it. Great Product! I bought this after much debate between the TiVo and ReplayTV about a year ago, and am very happy with my Replay. Poor Quality, Poor Service. Returned my second ReplayTV unit, in as many weeks. Simply Amazing. Keep in mind that I have a 5060 but it is essentially the same as the 5500's. This unit amazes me every day. I have had this unit for almost a year. Much better than Tivo. I have 2 Replaytv's, one 5504 and one 5040. I too was taken... I will never own or recommend a Replaytv. I too purchased a "pre-activated" 5504 from Circuit City through amazon. Quality DVR. I went for the Replay over Tivo, and have been very happy with my decision, while I think they are quite equal in many ways. They packed more features in the box. I have had my Replay TV 5508 (RTV)for one year and I have not been disappointed.
Good Product, but first one was DOA. Yep, the first unit came and was DOA. Beats the competition, bar none! Rarely do I say that one product is superior to another. Totally Changes TV Viewing Habits. I travel a lot, and the ReplayTV allows me to catch a lot of shows I would otherwise miss. ReplayTV rules. I've owned a ReplayTV for almost a year now, and can't remember anymore how I ever lived without one. Poor Customer Support. Recently ReplayTV's tech support was cahnged for a toll free number to a toll number. Gotta Love It. I liked my first Replay TV so much I bought another. Bait and Switch - DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. I too am one of the people cheated by ReplayTV. Keep in mind. I just got one and there are a couple of things to keep in mind: This is basically a consumer computer appliance. GREAT DVR! The TV no longer runs my life. It has been so nice to have this ReplayTV in my house. Get aTIVO. I bought a Tivo for my son for Christmas and a RePlay for myself.
A Time Saver and Addicting Way to Watch TV. I purchased the ReplayTV in the beginning of May, and I've been in love with it ever since. Great DVR. After using a Showstopper ReplayTV for years with 120 hours, I needed one that would work over ethernet after I switch to VOIP phone service. A great product that works even better when you have more than one. This is my second replaytv. Bad Quality - Bad Service. I am waiting for them to send me my fourth ReplayTV unit. I wouldn't buy it again. Before we bought our Replay TV we called and inquired about it before we decided to make the purchase. Very Disappointed in Activation. I purchased two RePlays on December 14 at $450 for each machine. Technical support is torture... Our Replay failed after 6 months. Serious Quality Issues. I have had a TiVo for more than a year and have been very pleased with the ease of use and quality of the guide service. I can't believe I waited this long to buy one! After hearing a friend at work rave about his Tivo, I started checking into DVR's. Great product! Beats the pants off my homemade DVR. I built my own DVR using an old computer and an video capture card.
I love it, and now I'm ready for an upgrade. I love Replay TV primarily for one of the reasons its former corporation got sued -- the commercial-skip feature is *fabulous*. Got a Defective Unit. The 5504 unit I purchased has a defective infrared sensor, such that you can only operate the Replay by holding the remote three feet or closer to the unit. Support is horrible product does not work as advertised. I am a networking professional. Commercial Advance is the key feature. We have three ReplayTV's in our home and they are networked so we can watch in the bedroom a program recorded in the kitchen. Correction on the previous viewer. Show sharing over the internet is no longer able with this model. Definately used but still works. I purchased this DVR because I have 2 boxes already and one broke. Why should I pay? I have been using a VCR for many many years and have always been totally in control of what I record and it doesn't cost anything beyond the initial purchase. NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS. im not going to write a long review on this. Better than Tivo. I have the 40 hour unit, and I love it. It really works. i have had replay for a year (share with my family) now and it's great!
ReplayTV is THE Best! One of my ReplayTV boxes is a 4500 model purchased in 2002. ReplayTV unsatifactory rating at Better Business Bureau. Check out their BBB rating first. Way better than TiVO. Don't be fooled by the TiVo ads -- this is the real thing. IR blaster port doesn't work. After carefully reading theinstructions and setting the unitup, I was unable to get it to control my Echostar (dish network)reciever via the IR port. Continuous Replay Problems. I have never been more unhappy with an electronics purchase. Tivo vs. Replay. First of all, the DVR (digital video recorder) category is amazing. Can't emphasize enough how much you should avoid ReplayTV. I've tried both the ReplayTV and the Tivo. Love it. I only have one complaint and that is when you hook up with DishNetwork you have to make sure that your ReplayTV doesn't go to a channel that you don't subscribe to because the ReplayTV won't be able to switch away from it. A piece of junk. A piece of junk. Replay TVs are the best! The Replay TV Series of DVRs are absolutely the best.
ReplayTv 5404. Very happy with the 5404. If only I could Give this ZERO Stars! REPLAY TV has been a disaster for me since the moment it arrived on my doorstep. Change the way you watch television, forever! It's entirely possible that you're considering the ReplayTV unit simply as a VCR replacement, something to record "the game" when you're gone without the hassle of tapes. A Powerful, Lifestyle Altering Device. There has been a lot of issues with this products stability, but the new 5. Not as good as prior replay tv, glitchs mar good product. I had an old panasonic showstopper (the first replay tv model) for over 5 years, a wonderful device. Died after 2 months, then a week after having it fixed... If it worked for more than 2 months it would be a decent product. My VCR is now collecting dust.. I have had my ReplayTV now for about 3 months. Great product...too bad there was some confusion... Why is it that everyone in this world expects something for nothing? Buyer Beware. I am a huge fan of Replay TV Digital Video Recorders.

Samsung BD-C6500 1080p Blu-ray Disc Player
What people say about Samsung BD-C6500 1080p Blu-ray Disc Player (by Samsung):
HUGE improvement over BD-P3600. I currently own the previous model Samsung Blu-ray player, the BD-P3600. The Jury Is Still Out On This One. I purchased 2 of these units for my house; one for the upstairs bedroom and one for the living room downstairs in anticipation of my 50" Panasonic Plasma that is being delivered next week. Not impressed. This player turned out to be a big disappointment. Excellent blu ray player. Player loads fast and has an excellent picture. So Far Great! This is my first Blue Ray player and I love it. Performs as specified. First, my rating is based on three parameters:1. Nice so far. I am not a TV buff and don't have a lot of interest in all of the esoterica of picture quality and TV technology today. Great player. I have this player for over 2 weeks now. OK, not for older tube-TV's! I have been trying blu-ray players because my DVD player of 10 years finally died. Leaping into the 21st Century with a great player. **PLEASE NOTE: I do not work for Samsung, nor do I have any stake in the company in any way (outside of wanting their stuff to work properly because I own it)**After looking at blu-ray players for a LONG time, I was finally glad to learn the new generation of Samsung players had been released.
Not super happy so far. I just received this product yesterday. Yeach!!!!!!! Doesn't work on all blue rays, even with firmware update. Great improvement from the BD3600. I am very happy with my BD C6500. Samsung BD-C6500 Blue Ray Technical Support and Player Setup. The image quality is great on this product, but I bought this one because the WIFI was built in.

What people say about PHILIPS - All Region Hi-Def 1080p Up-Converting Multi Region DVD Player with USB. Plays PAL/NTSC DVDs(Model DVP5990)With Remote. (by Royal Philips Electronics):
Global. Item was received on time and in good condition. It's the right DVD player I've been looking for. I've looked for a region-free DVD player for a long time, finally I found it at Amazon. Nice For The Price. My husband and I enjoy British TV comedies, and they're hard to find on US Zone DVD; so, I figured I'd get a DVD player that played all zones. Watch out. I received this unit today. Amazing. Exactly as described. I received this today and am very pleased. Misleading. This is NOT a special multi-region version of the Philips DVP5990--it simply IS the DVP5990 with printed instructions for making it region-free by punching numbers into the remote. Great Product. Excellent device. Great DivX player. I received this order very quickly, set it up with an HDMI cable on my 42 inch plasma. Great product. This is what I want.
Supper DVD player. This is my 2nd dvd player. Poor choice for people stationed overseas... Don't buy this player if you plan to move overseas. Good DVD player. There really isn't much to say.

Magnavox DVD Recorder/ VCR With Upconversion
What people say about Magnavox DVD Recorder/ VCR With Upconversion (by Magnavox):
It is a snafu. the tapes are not clear, when playing the tapes there is a line on the bottom of the screan, it looks like sound bar, the sound if very hard to understand is very distorted. Best VHS Solution for a Tight Budget. I bought this after returning a similarly-priced tunerless player-only combo product made by Samsung. Not a recorder. I thought I was buying a recorder with a tuner. Big Lots with no manual - not A. I purchased this dvd/vcr recorder at Big Lots yesterday for 79. No Unit For Old Men. I bought this unit new at K-Mart for about $160 to replace a Sansui (ever heard of them? Great product. Very affordable and worth the money. Short life. Nice Product, recording quality a little lacking. I purchased this unit to copy old home-recorded video cassettes, some of which were 25+ years old. Works Great, But For... It's a great refurbished product. Pityful. We have been through 3 of these in 2 years.
Better Than You Might Think! I, like most people, have always been skeptical of "remanufactured" products. Cannot use the DVD you copied in other units. If you want to copy your tape to DVD and to use this DVD in other units, I sincerely suggest you not to buy this product.

VIZIO VBR100 Full HD Blu-ray Player
What people say about VIZIO VBR100 Full HD Blu-ray Player (by Vizio, Inc.):
Great but be warned! This is a great product, however make sure your firmware is up to date. Family Blu-ray fun. We purchased our Vizio VBR100 direct from Amazon. VBR100 Review. Purchased this unit as my first BluRay player after waiting more than 2 years to purchase one due to the BluRay/HD battle and general lack of stability in the hardware and playback quality of existing units. Took a chance on a low-end Blue Ray Player. Having a PS3 as my primary Home Theater playback device, the wife and I decided that we wanted to update our dvd player and tube in our bedroom. Vizio is the best! So far so good. After much research... In preparing to buy a Bluray player, I read literally thousands of reviews, and what I learned is this: 1)EVERY manufacturer/model in the new lower price range has nay-sayers for various reasons 2)the number of reviews for each player I researched that indicated that they had to return the unit led me to want to purchase one nearby so I wouldn't have to drive far and/or ship it for repair/exchange 3)many players are very slow to load and/or noisy operating 4)many players' reviews indicated horror stories involving firmware updates 5)there are many different permutations of ancilliary functions (connecting to internet, receiving netflix, etc. Ok player though former price advantage is getting squeezed. If you are a hardware manufacturer that wants to capture market share based on pricing you have to take advantage of your own lower pricing while you can because your competition normally won't want to let you keep that advantage very long. Vizio vbr100 player. After reading many reviews on blu ray players, I decided to take a chance on Vizio. Great player. VIZIO BR Review. Price performance excellent.
Not the best performer. I bought one of this when they first came out early last fall from a large discount store. Good player for the money. Watch for sales. Great Blu Ray Player. I bought this Blu Ray player when I purchased our VIZIO VF551XVT 55-Inch XVT because I guess I wanted the same brand of BR player as the TV.

Magnavox HDD and DVD Recorder – H2160MW9
What people say about Magnavox HDD and DVD Recorder - H2160MW9 (by Funai):
Great unit, yes some limitations, but... The Magnavox H2160 is the only game in town. Perfect. I needed a tv recorder, but I didn't want to spend $1000 over 5 years for a monthly service. Great Product. What can I say other than I don't see how my wife and I ever got along without it. Awesome DVD & HDD DVR. Pros: + Record 1 show to HDD and watch a recorded show or a DVD+ Digital tuner gets most, if not all, channels available+ Dubbing from HDD to DVD, vice versa, is easy to do+ You can edit recordings (i. Great unit but do research. I was fed up with paying $97 a month for my basic cable so I did some research on the available DVR options, which is the only reason I stayed with cable. Failed with digital cabel box. I spent more than three hours to test this unit to do the timer recording through Time Warner cable digital box, it failed. Finalizing a disk is still not fixed! I have 2 of these units. Very similar to Philips DVDR3576H DVD Recorder. The only game in town (for recording SD on HDD with no monthly fees) until recently was the Philips DVDR3576H DVD Recorder with 160GB Hard Disc and Built-In Tuner, a very good unit (see Amazon's listing for informative detailed reviews, including my own). Fantastic - Failures. TIP: read the "original review", then SEE the update history at bottom**(9/25/09 UPDATE regarding my defective unit)**(11/10/09 UPDATE: "workaround" for the known "Finalize disc bug fix")--------------------------- MY ORIGINAL REVIEW --------------------------- The Magnavox H2160MW9 is is a mixed bag of fantastic abilities and a few disappointing failures rolled into one product. Great dvr. This is a great unit.
Help. I couldn't get this to work with my home entertainment setup. Excellent DVR. Excellent unit.

Meets all of my needs. I received this portable DVD player as a surprise birthday gift recently. Very good portable DVD device. My daughters enjoys the high quality of the Philips portabale DVD player they are watching it all day. Great player, superb battery stamina, lightweight. This is a great product. Good, I liked it. But display resolution could have been better. Hi,I liked this player in all other aspects except that I was expecting the picture quality to be better. Almost perfect portable DVD/CD player. Nearly Perfect. NOT High resolution as claimed. Ad copy/description claims "9" high resolution swivel LCD screen. Great Player. I bought this for my three year old grandson and he loves watching it.
